The garden all year round. What is permacultureJoanna Rzezak / Nelly PonsThe book of French writers Nelli Pont and artist John tozak - for those who would like to have their own garden. Who will cultivate the Earth, like many people at various points of the planet, from the African Peninsula of Somalia and the foothills of the Andes, in island valleys and in rice fields, and sometimes a stone's throw from us, on the balcony or on the windowsill.
The gardener, of course, needs preparation, but first of all he has to think. How not to harm the environment? What is the best way to take care of the earth and protect it? Where to start and how not to give up with the first failure? Fortunately, the novice gardener has many like -minded people, and their thoughts, conclusions and practical experience are collected, available and colorfully illustrated in this book.
For the year - from autumn to autumn - we will master the 12 principles of permaculture.
Permoculture is science and at the same time philosophy. She was born in the 1970s in the heads of two Australians, university teacher Bill Mollison and his student David Holmgren. They brought their interest in nature and the search for a way of life, which implies a respect for our planet. In fact, the researchers did not invent anything new. They only used the hidden mechanisms of nature itself and agricultural methods of peoples, who have been living in harmony with the outside world for centuries. Today, Permaculture has hundreds of thousands of followers around the world. Some of them even transferred its principles and ethical norms to other spheres of human life: the construction of cities and houses, enterprise management, culture and economics.
Anastasia Sdobyreva, an employee of the faculty of soil science of the Moscow State University named after Lomonosov, a Permocultural designer and the leading club of Permoculture practitioners, acted as a scientific editor of the Russian publication. Anastasia helped us adapt the book for the Russian publication - so that the methods of soil processing, the planting calendar and the recommended information resources became as useful for our readers.
