It is worth its weight in goldTanya Borisova / Tanya Safonova@AdMarginem @A+A
From ancient times, humanity has used small pieces of precious metals with inscriptions and drawings for trading and accumulating wealth. In recent years, with the advent of bank cards, applications and other technologies, coins are less and less ringing in our pockets. But all that people minted over the millennia did not disappear anywhere: just coins from money turned into guardians of many stories and keys to the past.
This book suggests looking at the world history through the prism of numismatics - the science of coins. Our reader will not only learn to understand the language of coins, moves to distant eras and state, meet great rulers and masters, but maybe he will decide to replenish the ranks of numismatists and begin to collect his own collection. Large discoveries begin with a small one - sometimes a very tiny metal circle.
The book was prepared for publication in collaboration with the Museum of the International Numismatic Club.
